Synopsis
"Outbreak Company" (2013) is a Japanese anime you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from Ichiro Sakaki's light novel series.
Japan has discovered a portal to a parallel world — one with elves, dwarves, and its own imperial court. Instead of sending diplomats or engineers, the government selects Shinichi Kanou: a former hikikomori who can answer any anime trivia question without blinking. His mission is to spread manga, anime, and Japanese pop culture across an entirely new civilization. He wasn't exactly expecting the job.
The show parodies the isekai genre while taking affectionate shots at otaku culture from the inside. Quick and self-aware, funnier than the premise suggests. Natsuki Hanae voices Shinichi with real energy. Watch "Outbreak Company" online on iFILM.
