Synopsis
Plainclothes (2025) is Carmen Emmi's crime romance, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The setting is 1990s New York, where a young undercover officer draws a sordid assignment: chat up gay men in shopping malls and set them up for arrest.
Andrew (Tom Blyth) hits his quota of busts without much thought — then one of the marks, Lucas (Russell Tovey), throws him off balance. Lucas is older, married, careful. What starts as a sting curdles into a connection no procedure accounts for, and the deeper it runs, the harder his superiors push for numbers. Caught between the badge and a longing he has buried for years, Andrew can no longer tell the job from himself. The film's tagline, "Everyone has a secret," lands as a warning.
