A champion soldier is found brutally murdered. Beowulf swears to track down the killer, not yet knowing what he is actually hunting. William Hurt, Joanne Whalley, and Ed Speleers layer the court scenes with competing loyalties and quiet betrayals. Filmed partly in Iceland, the setting is cold and credibly harsh.
