Synopsis
Barbie and the Three Musketeers (2009) is an animated family film produced in Canada and the US — watch it online on iFILM. Director William Lau puts a fresh spin on Dumas: the musketeers here are all young women, and the prince gets rescued rather than does the rescuing.
Barbie leaves home for Paris dead set on one goal — joining the royal guard. At the palace she finds three girls who secretly share the same dream: Viveca, Renée, and Aramina. While they train in hiding, the four of them uncover a scheme by the prince's scheming advisor to seize the throne. With no official rank and no weapons to speak of, they have to rely on each other.
Voice cast includes Kelly Sheridan as Barbie alongside Tim Curry as the villain, which gives the antagonist just enough menace to keep things interesting without frightening younger viewers. A solid pick for kids aged five to nine. Stream Barbie and the Three Musketeers online on iFILM.
