Synopsis
The Quintessential Quintuplets (五等分の花嫁, 2019), Season 1 — twelve-episode romance-comedy anime you can watch online on iFILM. Futaro Uesugi is broke, antisocial, and the top student at his school; a tutoring job paying five times the usual rate sounds straightforward.
It isn't. His students are five identical sisters from his own class — all of them failing, none of them willing to be tutored, and one of them, Nino, actively working to get him fired from the first episode. Their father's terms are clear: pass the midterms or the contract ends. Season 1 is the slow, episode-by-episode work of a boy who has no social skills and no patience earning the trust of five very different people. The season closes on a school camping trip where Futaro falls sick searching for the missing Itsuki and a buried mystery surfaces: he and the Nakano sisters share a past he'd forgotten about. An old photograph shows one of the five calling him her future husband — Season 1 won't tell you which one.
