MEGALOBOX (Seasons 1–2)
Synopsis
MEGALOBOX (メガロボクス, 2018) is a Japanese anime series you can watch online on iFILM — a tribute produced by TMS Entertainment to mark the 50th anniversary of the classic manga Ashita no Joe. The premise: boxing has evolved into a sport fought in mechanical exoskeletons called Gear, and every top fighter is wired up and sponsored. Every fighter except one.
Junk Dog has no name on record, no official standing, and no Gear — just raw speed and a taste for self-destruction. Together with his shady manager Nanbu, he rigs underground fights to survive on the fringes of a city divided by wealth. Then he crosses paths with Yuri, the undefeated Megalonia champion, and decides he wants in on the biggest tournament in the world, rules or not. What makes Junk Dog compelling isn't the fighting. It's that he's chasing something he can't fully name.
Across 13 episodes the series leans into a deliberately grainy, analog visual style — it looks closer to a 1970s sports film than a modern TV anime, and that contrast is exactly the point. Stream MEGALOBOX (2018) online on iFILM.
