Mimic: Sentinel

Mimic: Sentinel (2003) is a sci-fi horror thriller you can watch online on iFILM. This third entry in the mutant-insect franchise is also its most confined, running a lean 77 minutes.

Marvin, 24, is stuck inside a plastic bubble — severe asthma left over from the plague the Judas Breed once spread. To pass the time he photographs the courtyard and the neighbors through his window. Then the photos start showing something wrong: people across the way are vanishing one by one. No one believes him, no one's coming to help, and whatever took them feels close.

Director J.T. Petty plays the whole thing as a creature-feature riff on Hitchcock's Rear Window — a hero who sees everything but can't move. Alexis Dziena and Rebecca Mader lead, with genre veterans Lance Henriksen and Amanda Plummer in support. This is a low-budget sequel for fans only: don't expect Guillermo del Toro's original, but as a tight one-room scare for the night, it does the job. Stream Mimic: Sentinel (2003) online on iFILM.
