Synopsis

Sergeant James Hayes can't explain it to his superiors or to himself, least of all because one of the risen is Kate, his late wife — and he's since married Sarah. With the town doctor, Elishia McKellar, he hides the returned and starts hunting for the rules: why these particular people, why something terrible stops them at the town's edge, who the menacing stranger with no name really is. One by one, each of the six begins to recall who they were and how they died.

Vic is behaving strangely after his car accident. James relies on Maria to take him to Elishia's hideout, while Elishia uses Charlie to test the boundary around Yoorana, looking for a safe way out of town.

Vic finds Maria and convinces her to take him to the group, James spends an intimate night with Kate and Kirstie remembers how she died.
