Synopsis
Frasier (1993), Season 1 — watch all 24 episodes online on iFILM. NBC's sitcom spin-off of Cheers drops its psychiatrist protagonist in Seattle, newly divorced and determined to start clean — until his father moves in.
Martin Crane is a retired cop with a battered recliner and a dog named Eddie. Frasier is a man who can name the vintage by smell and owns one of everything in the Roche Bobois catalogue. Their cohabitation is brokered by Daphne Moon — Martin's physical therapist, Manchester accent and all — who has a talent for filling silences other people dread. Niles, Frasier's equally refined psychiatrist brother, arrives uninvited several times per episode and has been quietly in love with Daphne since the moment they met. Twenty-four episodes test every combination of these five characters and establish the show's central joke: the man who fixes minds cannot fix his own life.
Spun off from Cheers, Frasier stepped out of its parent's shadow in this very first season. The tone it sets here — sharp, self-deprecating, nobody wasted — held for eleven years. Stream Frasier Season 1 online on iFILM.
