Synopsis
Call Girl (2012) is a Swedish political thriller directed by Mikael Marcimain — watch online on iFILM. Stockholm, late 1970s. Iris is a teenager from state care pulled into the periphery of sex clubs and private parties frequented by people with government titles and no accountability.
The story is rooted in the actual Geijer Affair — the scandal that surfaced in 1977 when Sweden's sitting Minister of Justice was named as a brothel client. Marcimain doesn't build a procedural around that revelation; he stays close to Iris, played by Sofia Karemyr, tracing how a girl with nothing to bargain with gets drawn steadily deeper while the men who use her services stay safely out of frame. Pernilla August plays the recruiter with a coldness that is hard to shake.
The film's tagline — "Youth is seductive. Power is corrupt." — is backed up not by speeches but by simply following where the money and the connections go. Stream Call Girl online on iFILM.
