Deep (2017) is an animated family adventure you can watch online on iFILM. By the year 2100 humans are long gone from Earth, yet the ocean floor is still teeming with life.

Our hero is Deep, a curious little octopus. He shares a deep-sea trench with two friends — Evo, a jumpy anglerfish, and Alice, a hot-tempered shrimp — under the watchful eye of his grandfather, a giant octopus named Kraken. When their home is threatened, the trio sets off across the ocean to find help, picking up a shy moray eel called Maura along the way.

Directed by Spain's Julio Soto Gurpide and made by a team spread across Europe, the US and China, the film runs a brisk ninety minutes of bright underwater vistas and easy gags. Don't expect the layered humor of a Pixar feature — this one aims squarely at younger kids, and on that level it works. Stream Deep (2017) online on iFILM.
