A contaminated Capuchin monkey on their first response lands the whole station in quarantine, which sets the season's tone — things go sideways before they go anywhere useful. Lucy officially graduates to firefighter and tells the guys not to go easy on her just because she's the chief's daughter. Episode six installs an AI named Inferna to run the station; Eddie doesn't trust it, and turns out to be onto something. A flashback episode rewrites what the crew remembers about how Terry and Vicky first met — and nobody's version quite matches. Mid-season, Eddie learns his divorce lawyer was never a licensed attorney, which means his multiple divorces were never legally final. Season 3 leans harder into personal backstory than the first two seasons combined, and the show earns it: by episode eight, when Eddie briefly runs the station as interim chief, the shift in power actually carries some weight.
