After Dr. Ellen Sanders, a prominent Washington D.C. surgeon, is handpicked to operate on the President of the United States, rogue FBI agent Duncan Carlisle and armed intruders suddenly take her and her family hostage.

Duncan promises to kill a member of Ellen's family when she refuses to assassinate the president during surgery. Duncan also informs the family to go about their normal lives for the next two weeks until the commander in chief's operation.

When the President decides to use another doctor for his surgery, Ellen is threatened by Duncan to make him change his mind. Also, Ellen meets Duncan's daughter which could help her get more insight into him.

Ellen and Brian work on a plan to escape with their kids. Meanwhile, Duncan's mom makes a difficult decision.

Emily puts her skills to work when there is an emergency in the house. An innocent becomes a victim and Duncan wants answers.

Ellen's sister Lauren unexpectedly arrives at the house and decides to stays while unaware of the current situation. Hoffman in his investigation of the disappearance of Nurse Angela discovers Archer's involvement and confronts Duncan about his lies. Meanwhile Kramer discovers a way that can get Sandrine the money that she needs with dire consequences by robbing a high stakes poker game and Morgan visits a OBGYN in a routine pregnancy checkup.

Ellen and Brian try to take down Duncan; Archer's accomplice plans to reveal information to the assistant district attorney about a murder.

As Ellen tries to decide if she should save Duncan, she confronts his wife; Creasy has a meeting with Col. Blair and Vanessa.

When investigators get close to uncovering the plot to kill the president, Duncan is ordered to take out an insider.

Ellen tries to talk Duncan into backing out of the assassination plot when a member of the president's staff is murdered.

Duncan locks the Sanders in a room for the day as he and the team go after the snipers in New York; Duncan's mother-in-law wants to expose the president.

Brian wants to expose Duncan to the police, but changes his mind when he sees evidence of Ellen and Duncan getting close.

Ellen tries to make a deal with Duncan; Nina flees from the hospital after learning Duncan's plan.
