Xenia

"Xenia" (2014) — a Greek road drama, watch online on iFILM, directed by Panos Koutras. Danny is 16. His older brother Odysseus is 18. Their Albanian mother just died, and the two barely know each other. Their Greek father never acknowledged them. So they cross the country to find him.

The road runs from Athens to Thessaloniki, through a talent contest where they sense a door opening onto something better, and through the weight of what their mother left unresolved. The title is the ancient Greek word for hospitality shown to strangers — which is exactly what neither brother has ever been given.
