Synopsis

Tess Thorne writes cozy mystery novels — small-town crimes, tidy resolutions. After a speaking engagement she takes a shortcut home and is attacked, assaulted, and left for dead in a drainage ditch by a man locals call Big Driver. She survives. She does not call the police. Instead, she begins working the case herself, using the same methodical mind that plots her fiction, except now the story is hers.
Bello carries the film almost entirely alone, and she does it without leaning on hysteria — Tess's shift from shock to cold determination is measured and deliberate, which makes the whole thing more disturbing than the premise might suggest.
