Synopsis
Lost in Thailand (人再囧途之泰囧, 2012) is a Chinese road-trip comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Researcher Xu Lang has invented a "super fuel" additive that multiplies a tank of gasoline, and now he urgently needs his boss's signature — except the boss is somewhere off in Thailand.
His marriage is falling apart and his wife is ready to file for divorce, yet Xu drops everything and flies out for that approval. A scheming colleague chases after him, hoping to grab the technology first. The real disaster, though, is the seatmate: Bao, a sweet-natured pancake seller from the countryside who throws himself into helping his new friend and wrecks absolutely everything he touches. Director Xu Zheng plays Xu Lang; Wang Baoqiang is the unstoppable Bao, with Huang Bo rounding out the chaos.
The sillier things get, the clearer the question underneath the slapstick becomes: what are these three actually running from, and toward. The film became one of the biggest box-office hits in Chinese cinema and kicked off a wave of homegrown travel comedies. Put it on for farce that's light but not hollow.
