Synopsis
Watch Extras Season 2 (2005) online on iFILM — six episodes in which Andy Millman finally lands his own sitcom and learns exactly what fame costs.
His show, When the Whistle Blows, reaches air mangled by network notes: a daft wig, a catchphrase, a roar of canned laughter. Critics tear it apart, the ratings climb anyway, and strangers start recognising Andy in pubs for all the wrong reasons. The season walks him through that trap — a press pile-on, an awkward Chris Martin cameo, a BAFTA nomination, an audition for Sir Ian McKellen just to be taken seriously as an actor. David Bowie sits at a piano and improvises a song about Andy that you watch through your fingers.
Gervais and Merchant sharpen the edges here: the price of being known, the slow betrayal of your own taste, Maggie quietly stranded beside it all. Season 2 cuts deeper than the first. Stream Extras Season 2 online on iFILM.
