Synopsis

The season runs three parallel threads at once. Harald assembles an unlikely crew, each with their own agenda, for a dangerous passage toward Constantinople, with Olaf closing the distance behind him. Freydis finds shelter in Jomsborg, a stronghold of Norse pagans, only to realize that its leader Harekr has plans for the settlement she didn't agree to. In London, Emma of Normandy becomes convinced Godwin is betraying her. The threads converge toward a battle that settles one conflict and immediately opens the next.
