Season 1
Synopsis
Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking (2010), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Three documentary episodes in which the physicist turns the whole of space and time into a guided tour, grounded in real science rather than science fiction.
The season splits into three big questions. The first weighs the odds of alien life — from microbes to advanced civilizations — and Hawking's warning that answering a signal from the stars might be a mistake. The second takes on time travel: backward, he argues, breaks cause and effect and stays off-limits, but forward is genuinely on the table if you push speed and gravity hard enough. The closing episode pulls it together, tracing how the universe began, how stars ignite, where black holes and life come from, and how it all eventually ends.
Made for Discovery with then-cutting-edge CGI, and narrated in the original by Benedict Cumberbatch. It's short, and it suits anyone who wants cosmology in pictures, not equations. Stream Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking Season 1 online on iFILM.

S1·E1Aliens
Hawking joins science and imagination to explore one of the most important mysteries facing humankind — the possibility of alien, intelligent life and the likelihood of future "contact." Traveling from the moons of Jupiter to a galaxy maybe not so far, far away, he'll introduce us to possible alien life forms — in stunning CGI — that face the same universal trials of adaptation and survival as the residents of Earth.
S1·E2Time Travel
"Is Time Travel Possible?" Hawking explores the world's favorite scientific 'what if?' warping the very fabric of time and space as he goes. From killing your grandfather to riding a black hole, see how time travel may actually come true.
S1·E3The Story of Everything
The world's most famous living scientist presents the wonders of the universe, revealing the splendor and majesty of the cosmos as never seen before. See how the universe began, how it creates stars, black holes and life -- and how everything will end.
