Synopsis
Surviving Death (2021), Season 1 is a Netflix documentary you can watch online on iFILM — six episodes circling one question: does consciousness outlast the body that carries it?
The season opens with a doctor found lifeless after going over a waterfall, and her account of a near-death experience sets the terms of the conversation. Two episodes then turn to mediums — séances, plaster casts said to be the hands of spirits, researchers trying to pin down what really happens in the room. After that come the signs the grieving read into birds and flickering lights, eerie recordings made at a historic site, and finally a child psychiatrist with a file of small children who recall lives that were not their own. Adapted from Leslie Kean's book, it hands the floor to witnesses and skeptics in equal measure.
This isn't horror or a debunking special. It's a quiet look at people who've lost someone and are reaching for any thread of contact. Stream Surviving Death Season 1 online on iFILM.
