Synopsis

A mass grave turns up in the woods outside Berlin, and the trail runs back to the Red Fortress massacre. Gereon Rath and Charlotte Ritter close in on a clandestine network, the Black Reichswehr, plotting to topple the young republic. With photographer Gräf, Rath gathers proof of a hidden German air base at Lipetsk, a secret the state has buried from the world. Charlotte ends up in a police cell, no longer fighting for a job but for her life. Greta's quiet life with her employers curdles into a revenge scheme, and the meek-looking maid becomes part of something lethal. By the finale everything converges back on that train.
