The Split (2018) is a BBC drama you can watch online on iFILM, created by Abi Morgan. The Defoe women — Hannah, Nina, and Rose — are divorce lawyers by trade, which makes it almost absurd how thoroughly they've avoided dealing with their own family's wreckage.

Their estranged father walks back in after a 30-year absence, and that unresolved fracture runs through everyone's carefully maintained routines. Nicola Walker leads the ensemble opposite Stephen Mangan, Annabel Scholey, and Anthony Stewart Head; the show handles the irony of its premise with intelligence rather than comedy. Three seasons ran on BBC One between 2018 and 2022.
