Synopsis
Away (2020), Season 1 is a ten-episode space drama you can watch online on iFILM, following commander Emma Green as she leaves her husband and teenage daughter to steer the first crewed ship to Mars.
The months-long voyage turns into one test after another almost from launch. First a fire on board and a crew that doesn't trust her — a Russian, a Chinese botanist, an Indian doctor, a Ghanaian engineer, each with his own rulebook and grudges. Then a dead solar panel, a near-mutiny over a failing water system, an infection that brings hallucinations, and rations on the Atlas running thin. Back on Earth, husband Matt is hit by a health crisis and daughter Lex grows up in glimpses, through a video feed that keeps dropping. The closer Mars gets, the heavier the price Emma has already paid.
