Synopsis

Season one is an origin story, but not a clean one. Mildred maneuvers around a doctor running brutal experimental procedures, a governor who needs a headline conviction before the election, and her own growing attachment to a political press aide named Gwendolyn. Every favor traded and every line crossed adds another coat to the mask. The warmth underneath does not vanish all at once — that slow erosion is what drives the season.
