Synopsis

Claire Foy plays Margaret, with Paul Bettany as the Duke. What begins in wealth and infatuation ends in a 1963 courtroom, where her husband lays out intimate photographs to destroy her in public. High society feasts on every detail, the press hounds her, and the era's double standard falls on the woman alone. Rather than join the crowd, the series watches the whole ordeal from Margaret's side of the room.
A standalone second chapter in the anthology that started with 2018's A Very English Scandal, this run was directed by Anne Sewitsky. Its strongest card is Foy, playing a woman crushed for things men of her circle got away with. It suits viewers who like fact-based period drama and courtroom stories with bite.
