Roswell
The Pentagon denied it was a UFO. But one man knew better, because he was there.
Synopsis
Roswell (1994) is a sci-fi TV movie you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jeremy Kagan and adapted from Kevin Randle and Donald Schmitt's investigative book UFO Crash at Roswell. Kyle MacLachlan stars as Major Jesse Marcel, with Martin Sheen and Peter MacNicol in key supporting roles.
New Mexico, July 1947. Marcel is ordered to inspect debris found scattered across a rancher's field outside town. Command says it's a downed weather balloon. Marcel doesn't buy it — the material is unlike anything in the Army Air Forces inventory, and the official explanation shifts every time he asks a follow-up question. The deeper he pushes, the more the government's silence starts to look like a deliberate policy.
Shot for Showtime, the film was one of the first to play the Roswell cover-up as straight drama rather than B-movie spectacle. MacLachlan brings a quietly stubborn quality to the role — less about heroics, more about a man who simply won't let the file close. Stream Roswell online on iFILM.
