Synopsis
Samurai Fiction (SF サムライ・フィクション, 1998) — watch the Japanese action-comedy online on iFILM. Young Heishiro Inukai, a clan adviser's hotheaded son, sets off after the rogue warrior Kazamatsuri, who has stolen a sword given to the family by Shogun Tokugawa himself eighty years before.
His father has limited confidence in the mission and sends two of the clan's best ninja to trail the boy and his bumbling companions. Director Hiroyuki Nakano shoots most of the film in black and white, playing the samurai genre straight enough to land the comedy and loose enough to puncture its own mythology.
