Reed is a family man with a compulsion he can no longer ignore. He packs a bag, checks into a hotel room, and runs through his plan step by step — meticulous, rehearsed, calm. He has a rope, a knife, and a script for how the night will go. Jackie arrives instead of the person he expected. She does not follow the script.

Pesce shot the film in a neon-soaked giallo palette, leaning openly on Dario Argento and pulling Howard Shore's score from The Fly onto the soundtrack as an act of genre citation.
