Synopsis
The Eyes of My Mother (2016) is an American horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Nicolas Pesce in stark black-and-white — a choice that makes every act of violence feel clinical, almost surgical. It's 76 minutes. Nothing is wasted.
Francisca grows up on a remote farm with a Portuguese mother who was a surgeon back home. The mother teaches her daughter to dissect, to handle organs, to see the body as a system. Then a stranger arrives and ends that strange, hermetic childhood. Francisca is left alone with the animals, her mother's instruments, and impulses she has no framework to contain. The film follows her across years, as isolation deepens into something that can't be named politely.
Kika Magalhães plays Francisca as someone who genuinely wants human connection — which is exactly what makes the film unsettling rather than just gory. Pesce's debut earned him a reputation as one of the sharper voices in American horror. Stream The Eyes of My Mother online on iFILM.
