Allied

Allied (2016) is a wartime thriller and romance directed by Robert Zemeckis — watch online on iFILM. Casablanca, 1942. Canadian intelligence officer Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) arrives undercover as a French refugee and meets his assigned partner: Marianne Beausejour (Marion Cotillard), a Resistance operative he has never seen before. Their mission requires them to pose as a married couple.

The performance becomes something real. They survive the job, marry in London, and build a life between air raids. Then Max gets a call from military intelligence: Marianne may be a German double agent. Either the source is wrong, or everything she has told him since Casablanca has been a lie. He has seventy-two hours to find out — and strict orders about what happens if the answer is yes.

The screenplay was written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Locke). Zemeckis shot the film as a deliberate homage to 1940s Hollywood, using studio lighting and period costumes to echo the visual grammar of wartime classics. Stream Allied (2016) online on iFILM.
