Leo San Juan has been out of the hero business for five years — helping with the family bakery, avoiding the supernatural, making it stick. Then a trip to Veracruz with his friend Nando goes wrong. Something old stirs in the Tuxtlas jungle: the Chaneques, spirit beings from Nahuatl mythology who can steal a person's soul and leave them to waste away. Only Leo can deal with them.
