Synopsis
The Forest (La Forêt, 2017), Season 1 is a French-Belgian crime mystery you can watch online on iFILM — six episodes set on the edge of the Ardennes woods. One night sixteen-year-old Jennifer phones her teacher and vanishes among the trees.
Captain Gaspard Deker runs the case — a newcomer, a single dad, an outsider to a village that keeps its mouth shut. Local officer Virginie Musso knew the missing girl. Across six episodes the forest gives up more bodies, two more schoolgirls go missing, and quiet households turn out to hide loud secrets. Then there's Eve, the teacher who was herself found as a child wandering these same woods — her past pulls the story toward something almost supernatural.
The pace is patiently European: fog, wet bark, low voices instead of car chases. If you grew up on Nordic noir and The Killing, this rhythm will feel like home. Stream The Forest Season 1 online on iFILM, all six episodes.
