Helen of Troy (Season 1)
Desire is war
Synopsis
"Helen of Troy" (2003) — watch online on iFILM — is an American historical mini-series directed by John Kent Harrison, with Sienna Guillory, James Callis and Rufus Sewell. It opens in Sparta, where a diplomatic visit by the young Trojan prince Paris ends with a decision that will cost both civilisations ten years.
Paris and Helen leave together for Troy. What Menelaus reads as theft, his brother Agamemnon of Mycenae reads as a long-awaited pretext. Stellan Skarsgård plays Agamemnon as a man who wanted this war before Helen gave him a reason for it. John Rhys-Davies is Priam. The siege locks into place. The ending is the one already carved in stone.
The production commits to the epic register — large-scale battles, high emotion, a cast that treats the myth without irony — and it works because Paris and Helen stay at the centre of it. Agamemnon's war machine is always present, but the story never lets you forget whose choices set it in motion. Stream "Helen of Troy" online on iFILM.
