Willow (Season 1)

Willow (2022) is a fantasy series you can watch online on iFILM — a Disney+ sequel to Ron Howard's 1988 film, with Warwick Davis reprising the role of the sorcerer Willow Ufgood more than thirty years later. The kingdoms he helped save have grown peaceful, but that peace ends when a prince is abducted by a dark force called the Gales.

A group of mismatched heroes sets out to bring him back: Princess Kit (Ruby Cruz), her twin brother Airk (Dempsey Bryk), a palace guard named Boorman (Amar Chadha-Patel) and a handful of others who each have more going on than they admit. Showrunner Jonathan Kasdan structured the eight-episode first season to stand on its own — you don't need the film to follow the story, though knowing it adds another layer.

Much of the location shooting was done in Wales, and the landscape shows; it looks like actual medieval countryside rather than a backlot. Davis carrying the show at the center is the interesting part — he's playing someone who became a legend but still doubts himself, and the weight of that reads.
