Synopsis
The Spy (Spionen, 2019), directed by Jens Jonsson, is a Scandinavian thriller based on the true story of Sonja Wigert — watch it online on iFILM. Set in wartime Stockholm, the film follows Norway's most celebrated actress as she draws the attention of Reichskommissar Terboven, one of the most feared Nazi officials across occupied Scandinavia.
When Sonja rejects Terboven in favour of a Hungarian diplomat, he has her father arrested. To secure his release, she enters into a forced relationship with the Reichskommissar — and Swedish intelligence quickly identifies that as a position worth exploiting. Ingrid Bolsø Berdal plays Sonja with a quiet intensity that keeps the film far from conventional spy-thriller territory. Rolf Lassgård and Alexander Scheer round out the principal cast.
