Synopsis
No Man of God (2021) is a tight two-hander crime thriller based on actual FBI transcripts — watch it online on iFILM. FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier (Elijah Wood) is assigned to interview death-row inmate Ted Bundy (Luke Kirby) as part of a behavioral research program in the late 1980s. For reasons that become increasingly uncomfortable, Bundy takes a liking to Bill and keeps asking him back.
Director Amber Sealey strips the story down to its bones: a table, two chairs, fluorescent light, and two men who can't quite read each other the way they think they can. Luke Kirby plays Bundy not as a stock villain but as someone deeply practiced at performing normalcy — which is a far more unsettling thing to watch than outright menace.
The film is really about the drift. Bill starts out clinical; somewhere across those visits the line between analyst and subject blurs. If you found Mindhunter more interesting for the psychology than the crime-scene reconstruction, No Man of God is worth your evening. Stream it on iFILM.
