Synopsis
George Carlin: Jammin' in New York (1992) is a stand-up special you can watch online on iFILM, taped for HBO at the Paramount Theater inside Madison Square Garden. Carlin himself named it his favorite of all his concerts.
This is an hour of prime Carlin. He tears into feel-good environmentalism ("the planet is fine — the people are in trouble"), mocks airline safety announcements, golf as a rich man's land grab, and America's habit of hoarding stuff. No props, no characters — just one man, a mic and language wielded like a scalpel, sliding from everyday gripes to savage social critique in a single breath.
Directed by Rocco Urbisci, the show won the 1992 CableACE Award and ranks among the high points of his career. If you're meeting Carlin for the first time, start here. Stream Jammin' in New York (1992) online on iFILM.
