Synopsis
The Stolen Princess (2018) is a Ukrainian animated fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Oleg Malamuzh, it borrows loosely from Pushkin's old poem about Ruslan and his lost love.
Ruslan is a wandering performer who dreams of knighthood. He falls for a girl named Mila and has no idea she's the king's daughter. Then the sorcerer Chernomor tears open a magic vortex and snatches her away — he wants to drain the power of her love and turn it into raw spellcraft. So Ruslan sets off after her, across a world of trolls, talking horses and dark magic, with little more than stubbornness on his side.
Made by Kyiv's Animagrad studio, the film keeps things bright, fast and funny rather than fairy-tale solemn. At 85 minutes it's an easy pick for a family night, with kids and parents both finding something to laugh at. The tagline sums it up plainly — love is stronger than magic.
