Synopsis
The Pick-up Artist (1987) is a breezy romantic crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by James Toback, it follows Jack Jericho, a grade-school teacher who's sure he understands women and works the streets of New York with a single rehearsed line.
That act holds up until he hits on Randy, a woman completely unimpressed by his routine. A young Robert Downey Jr. plays the cocky charmer, with Molly Ringwald as the one who deflates him. Trouble is, Randy's father is a gambling addict buried in debt to the mob, and the romance drags Jack into someone else's mess. Dennis Hopper, Harvey Keitel and Danny Aiello fill out the cast.
