Synopsis
Survive Style 5+ (2004) is a wildly inventive Japanese dark comedy you can stream online on iFILM. Director Gen Sekiguchi runs five storylines in parallel: a husband who keeps trying to bury his wife while she keeps coming back; a stage hypnotist whose act spins dangerously out of control; an advertising executive convinced that every person and object has a single defining function; three hapless burglars who keep breaking into the wrong places; and a British hitman — played by a deadpan Vinnie Jones — who takes jobs as calmly as other people take lunch breaks.
None of the five threads appear connected. Then they collide. Tadanobu Asano, Hiroshi Abe and Sonny Chiba anchor a cast that plays the whole thing straight while the film accelerates into pure chaos.
