Ron's Gone Wrong

Ron's Gone Wrong (2021) is an animated family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. In a near-future where every kid carries a walking, talking, internet-connected robot pal, shy Barney is the one classmate stuck without one — until a birthday box finally arrives.

The catch: Ron is a dud straight out of the package. He glitches, mangles names, can't post the perfect selfie, and behaves nothing like the sleek B-bots everyone else shows off. So Barney starts fixing the little guy himself, and a friendship grows out of all the malfunctions. The voice cast includes Jack Dylan Grazer, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Olivia Colman.

Made by Locksmith Animation, the film turns a story about gadgets and likes into something warmer — a look at loneliness in a crowd of peers and what separates a real friend from an app. Directors Sarah Smith and Jean-Philippe Vine keep the gags landing while leaving room for a quieter ache underneath.
