Firestorm

Jesse Graves (Long) is a smoke jumper, the kind of firefighter dropped by parachute into blazes that ground crews can't reach. A signal goes out about a major forest fire and he drops in — not knowing it was set deliberately. Convicted killer Earl Shaye (Forsythe) broke out of prison disguised as a crew member, using the chaos to retrieve $37 million in stashed loot somewhere in the burning forest. An ornithologist named Jennifer (Suzy Amis) ends up caught between them, and Graves finds himself fighting both the fire and a gang of armed fugitives through the same stretch of burning trees. Barry Pepper shows up in an early role.
