Synopsis
"Lupin the Third: The Columbus Files" (1999) is a Japanese anime TV special in the long-running Lupin III franchise, available to watch online on iFILM. Directed by Setsuo Takase and Shin'ichi Watanabe.
Fujiko Mine falls from a great height and survives, but wakes up with her memory wiped. She doesn't recognize Lupin or any of the crew — and she's forgotten where she hid the Columbus Egg, a relic said to control the weather. She was the only one who knew. Now Lupin has to restore her memory before someone with worse intentions gets to the Egg first.
The Lupin III franchise has been producing TV specials since the early seventies. This one is unusual in the lineup: it keeps the focus on Fujiko rather than on Lupin himself, giving her a different kind of story than the usual caper. Stream "Lupin the Third: The Columbus Files" (1999) on iFILM.
