Synopsis

Darkness: Those Who Kill (2019), Season 1 is the Danish crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes of cold Nordic detective work pitting two investigators against one careful killer.

Detective Jan Michelsen has spent six months on the disappearance of 17-year-old Julie, and he's nearly the only one still convinced she's alive. A decade-old case points him toward a pattern of abductions, so profiler Louise joins to read how the man thinks. The further they dig, the clearer it gets that he isn't working alone. Cut against the hunt, the season keeps returning to the captive women in a basement — and that thread grips harder than the chase itself.

It carries on the Danish Those Who Kill franchise but plays fine on its own. Natalie Madueño's Louise is the main reason to stay to the end. Slow, grim, light on showy gore — a good fit if you like Nordic noir in the vein of The Bridge. Stream Darkness: Those Who Kill Season 1 online on iFILM.
