Synopsis
Rescue Squad Mater (2008) is a three-minute Pixar animated short you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by John Lasseter, it spins a standalone tall tale set in the Cars universe — Mater claims he used to be a fire truck, and Lightning McQueen isn't buying it for a second.
The short leans into the series' running gag: Mater's outlandish stories that somehow turn out to be true. This one ends with a twist — he wasn't just a firefighter, he doubled as the hospital doctor too. Larry the Cable Guy voices Mater, with Keith Ferguson as Lightning.
