Synopsis

At Hyakkaou Private Academy, gambling decides the school's social order: win and you give the orders, lose and you become indentured to whoever beat you. Into this system walks transfer student Yumeko Jabami, played by Minami Hamabe.
She looks gentle and a little spacey. She is neither. Yumeko doesn't gamble to accumulate wealth — she gambles for the raw thrill of risking it all, and she reads the room faster than anyone in it. Season 1 takes her through an ascending chain of duels: she dismantles a rigged match against classmate Mary, outwits a student council member's carefully laid trap, teams up with Mary against the class bully, goes through a near-lethal ESP card game with the unhinged Midari, and deliberately stays in debt just to earn a seat across from the council president.
