About

Synopsis

"Chronicle of an Escape" (Crónica de una fuga, 2006) is an Argentine thriller you can watch online on iFILM — built from real events that took place during the military dictatorship, not from a screenwriter's imagination.

Buenos Aires, 1977. Claudio Tamburrini is a goalkeeper for a third-rate football club when plainclothes agents drag him into a car. He ends up in a suburban house with no signs, no files, no due process — only interrogations and four walls. Director Adrián Caetano, with Rodrigo de la Serna and Pablo Echarri in the lead roles, keeps the camera tight on the physical: exhaustion, fear, the slow erosion of a person under arbitrary violence. Claudio and three fellow prisoners wait months for a verdict that was never going to come in writing. Then a storm hits. And a window opens.

Tamburrini survived, wrote a memoir, and Caetano adapted it with no false comfort added. This is one of the sharpest Latin American thrillers of the 2000s — seen mostly on the festival circuit, and rarely since. Stream "Chronicle of an Escape" (2006) on iFILM.
