Synopsis
Let the Bullets Fly (让子弹飞, 2010) is a Chinese action-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Jiang Wen also stars as a bandit who robs the train of a newly appointed governor, then simply takes the dead man's job and rides into a remote town to rule it.
What follows is a battle of wits, not just gunfights. The fake official wants to shake down the rich and stir up the locals, but the town already belongs to Huang, a scheming tycoon played by Chow Yun-fat in a sly dual role. Caught between them is a jittery aide (Ge You) who keeps switching sides. Set in the warlord-torn 1920s, the plot runs on disguises, double-crosses and dialogue that lands harder than the bullets.
It became one of the biggest box-office hits in Chinese cinema and a quotable cult favorite, prized for its breakneck pace, pitch-black humor and the double meaning hiding under almost every scene. If you like westerns laced with political satire and farce, this one is a treat. Stream Let the Bullets Fly (2010) online on iFILM.
