Once Upon a Time in Shanghai

Once Upon a Time in Shanghai (2014) is a Hong Kong martial-arts crime film you can watch online on iFILM. In the Shanghai of the early 1900s, a migrant dockworker named Ma Yong looks for honest work in a city run by gangs.

Ma has a stubborn moral streak and flatly refuses to join any of the criminal crews. Instead he finds a friend in Qi Long, a gangster with a code of his own. When the Japanese agent Hashimoto is turned down by Qi Long, he sets out to kill them both, and Ma's fists end up doing the talking. Director Wong Ching-po reworks the kung fu classic The Boxer from Shantung, while the great Sammo Hung choreographs the fights and turns up on screen beside Philip Ng and Andy On.
