Synopsis

Motor-mouthed Tang Ren and his sharp younger partner Qin Feng are summoned by a Japanese colleague: a mafia boss has turned up dead in a locked room, and the evidence leads nowhere. The case quickly becomes a brains-versus-brains race between sleuths from rival countries, doubling as a whirlwind tour of Tokyo full of yakuza, geishas and sumo wrestlers. The cast brings together Wang Baoqiang, Liu Haoran, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Masami Nagasawa and Tony Jaa, with franchise director Chen Sicheng at the helm.
The third installment landed as one of the biggest box-office openings of its year in China.
